Seeing photographs displayed creatively on the wall brings joy to any family, but what to do with those remaining images that tell a real story of how your family bonds & interacts. We all need something tangible showing the essence of our family for generations to come.
This is where my Fine Art Flush Mount Photo Albums really shine. With strong pages they are durable for the many fingers that will be turning them over the years, they lay flat on a table to be pored over, keeping the spine strong. The workmanship & printing is of extremely high quality, and I've had many clients exclaim how delighted they are with the final album, and how high quality it is, exceeding their expectations.
These albums are printed at an Australian company called Momento Pro. I have carefully selected this company as I love their workmanship and their ethos. They create every album by hand and have won numerous printing and craftmanship awards. It is truly a delight to see photographs I have taken printed in these albums. I know, from taking your photos right through to handing you your album, passion, thought and quality have been put into your bespoke album.
Having a representative from Momento Pro here in NZ means I am able to directly liaise. This, in turn, means my clients have a much more personal aspect to their album as I can discuss different ideas and recommendations directly with our rep. Some families like to add personal quotes, a short background on the photo session, or a simple dedication at the beginning of the album. Text really adds a personal touch and with a large selection of cover materials and embossing colours, you will have an album which truly will make your heart sing.
I like all my suppliers to have the same passion for their workmanship and quality as I do. If all the people & businesses I select to create your artwork, have this same passion as I do, I know my clients are going to have outstanding pieces of artwork to admire for generations to come.

When I'm asked the classic question "what do you do?" (in relation to work), I can receive a blank look explaining I'm a family lifestyle photographer. Unless you've researched the internet looking for a family photographer, you may not be aware of the diversity of style's for family photos. They range from formal portrait to fantasy, outdoors to lifestyle to total documentary, and anything in between. On this blog, I'll be giving you an insight into a lifestyle photo session with me - there's a wee twist as I like to also include photos of the family all looking at the camera for a few shots too!
The main part of a family lifestyle session is focused primarily on a documentary style of photography which tells a story and captures emotion. Your unique family life is the main story then you'll have wee mini stories within. These fit well in an album, framed story board, or canvas. Below is an example of a mini story.
I always include images of each child with both parent, and if possible, each parent with all the kids. And of course any you may request or I suggest. As part of this sequence, I capture emotional connection between family members. I like to capture Mum & Dad together if they're up to it too! These images are great for frames for kids rooms, & giving to the Grandparents. It's really special for the kids to have emotive photos with their parents.
At a lifestyle session, I follow the family's lead as to where they feel most represents their stage of life. Many opt for home but some want to head off to a favourite location or on an adventure (I'm always keen!). This often depends on the age of the children too. Families with young children or that live rural tend to want photograph's at their home. Families with slightly older children and teens are keen to head out and about.
The main thing is communication with the family prior, and during the session so those natural interactions occur (although I do offer prompts if required to help create the emotive atmosphere I am looking for). I love to capture the really fun parts, the laughter and the noise but just as importantly, the quiet bits. I call them the bits in between.
