What to Wear Colour Options For Your Photo Session
I think one of the hardest decisions for families when getting their photos taken is what to wear. I've put together a series of colour options that can assist with the decision making. Try and select three main colours and use one or two for layering eg scarf, necklace, a hat. Avoiding large motifs on t-shirts is a must too. Your eye will be led to the motif rather than faces which is not what we're after!
This family opted for a spring colour pallet for their photo session.
Spinning this beautiful colour pallet was perfect for this family. Although we photographed in Spring, the location was warm so we wanted warm and happy images that projected childhood memories, hence the summer colour selection.
This family opted for autumn colours to highlight the earthy tones of their environment.
This family selected a winter colour option. This colour option, combined with moody light, gives a quiet intimate feeling to the shot.
I hope this has assisted in colour options for you and your family when having photographs taken. Keep in mind where your photo location is and what colours suit you all. It is amazing how much clothing colour can enhance a photo making your family look like a cohesive group. It can also have the opposite effect too. Outfits don't need to be expensive, the right colour though will make everyone look and feel good. You may like to read 5 Tips to Prepare for a Family Photo Session too.
